Der VBOA-Anlass 2022 ist schon vorbei. De Teilnehmer haben sich ausnnahmslos begeistert geäussert: Die Hotelunterkunft, die exzellente Verpflegung und der perfekte Service im Hotel Seegarten waren eindrücklich. Die Routen wurden als gelungen, das Routebook als ausgezeichnet bezeichnet. Dass wir den Ausflug mit der Seilbahn auf den Kronberg wegen unsicherer Wetterlage durch einen Besuch im Volkskundemuseum und der Schaukäserei ersetzten, war vernünftig, wenn auch das befürchtete grosse Gewitter im Appenzellischen dann erst am Folgetag niederging. aber da waren wir ja schon im Thurgau unterwegs und kriegten erst in Stein am Rhein etwas Regen ab. Und dort gibt es jede Menge Restaurants. Der Schlussabend brachte ein exzellentes Viergang-Menu, umrahmt mit der typischen Appenzeller Musik der Alpstee-Buebe.
Netterweise gab es keine Unfälle, einzig ein Cresta PCD hatte kleinere technische Probleme, und ein LIX blieb zuhause mit technischen Gebresten..

Eine Sitzung mit Vorstandsmitgliedern aus den Niederlanden und der Schweiz brachte keine Lösung in den Fragen nach Ort und Zeit eines nächsten VBOA-Meetings. Wir wollen Umfragen in den Clubs machen, zum Interesse an der Teilnahme und - vor Allem - zur Mitarbeit bei der Organisation weiterer internationaler Anlässe. Ich kann jetzt sagen: es gibt viel Arbeit, es lohnt sich, aber Jemand muss es tun!

The VBOA 2022 event is already memory or history. The participants were all enthusiastic: the hotel accommodation, the excellent catering and the perfect service at the Hotel Seegarten were impressive. The routes were described as successful and the route book as excellent. It was sensible to replace the cable car trip to the Kronberg with a visit to the folklore museum and the show dairy due to uncertain weather conditions, even if the feared big thunderstorm in Appenzell didn't hit until the following day, but by then we were already in Thurgau and only got some rain in Stein am Rhein. And there are plenty of restaurants there so nobody had to get wet. The final evening brought an excellent four-course meal, framed by the typical Appenzell music of the Alpstee-Buebe.
There were no accidents, only one Cresta PCD had minor technical problems, and one LIX stayed at home, again with technical problems.

A meeting with board members from the Netherlands and Switzerland did not bring a solution yet to the questions of time and place for a next VBOA meeting. We want to make surveys in the clubs about the interest in participation and - above all - about the cooperation in the organisation of further international events. I can say now: there is a lot of work while it is well worth it, but somebody has to do it!
